Shehu Sani: because I returned to APC

Shehu-Sani

The former legislator who once represented the central senatorial district of Kaduna, Shehu Sani, declared the reason why he downloaded the Democratic Party Peoples, PDP, and reached the Congress All Progress.

The human rights activist made known this Friday during an apparition on a television program of the channels, Hag Copy.

Sani, in October 2018, had resigned from the APC for disputes surrounding the party primaries.

He was subsequently decamped to the PDP and obtained the party senatorial ticket, but lost the 2019 elections for the current governor of Kaduna, Uba Sani.

The former legislator later returned to the party in power on February 16 together with some PDPs and the new members of the party of the people of Nigeria in Kaduna.

Speaking on the show, Sani said that the governor of Kaduna was responsible for his return to the party in power following the reconciliation interviews throughout the state.

The activist said he was a founding member of the APC in the state of Kaduna and contributed to the creation of party structures in the state.

Sani also declared that he had fallen with the immediate past governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Romai, for political and personal differences.

He said: “A circumstance led to our mass release from the APC in 2018, and that circumstance changed, and then we joined the APC in the Kaduna state.

“First of all, I was a founding member of APC, in particular in the state of Kaduna. We established structures and we made the campaigns and won the 2015 elections both at the senatorial level and of the governor, somewhere along the road, we separated with the governor (nasir el-riffai) in the state.

“We separated on differences that are both political, personal and also issues that affect the state, and for this reason, we had to evict us from the party and then we now have a new governor who has reached us.

“A governor who made consultations, building bridges throughout the state and then we also met and agreed that we should return to the party that we founded in the state of Kaduna.”
