Former senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has commended the planned move by the governors of the South-East region to meet with President Bola Tinubu in a bid to find a political solution that will ensure the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Governors under the auspices of the South East Governors’ Forum, in a meeting on Tuesday in Enugu, resolved to meet with the President to discuss Kanu’s detention and seek a political solution for his release.
While reacting to the action, Sani used his X account to praise the governor.
βThe visit of the Southeast Governor to the President regarding the Kanu issue is a good and commendable step.
“This is an opportunity to seek a political solution. No price is too high for genuine and assured peace. This nation cannot sleep soundly on a three-legged bed,” he wrote.
