Tinubu Ball President has directed his representative, Kashim Shettima, to lead the Nigerian delegation to the 80th session of the UN General Assembly (Unga) in New York, United States.
Senior Special Assistant to the President in the Media and Communication (Vice President’s Office), Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, revealed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
Unga will be held between September 22 and September 28 in New York.
The statement reads: “Vice President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to join other leaders at a global event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, scheduled for Monday, September 22, at the UN headquarters in New York.”
“The vice president will also join other high -ranking officials in high level general debates from Tuesday, September 23 to Sunday 28.”

“He will also deliver Nigeria’s national statement on Wednesday, September 24, between 15:00 and 21:00, New York time.
“In addition, the Vice President will attend a special event on climate for the Head of State and the Government which will be held by the Secretary General of the United Nations on Wednesday, September 24, starting at 14:00 to 18:00
“Nigeria is expected to announce the newly determined contribution (NDC) under the Paris agreement. ‘
After attending Unga, the Vice President will leave for Frankfurt, Germany, to meet with Deutsche Bank officials before returning to Nigeria.
