Simi, Adekunle Gold are not divorced, Manager says as fake court documents circulate

Nigerian singer Simi’s manager has dismissed reports circulating online that the artiste and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are getting divorced, calling the claims false.

Simi’s manager, Vincent, said the rumors widely spread on social media were based on fake documents filed as divorce petitions allegedly filed by Adekunle Gold.

The document, dated February 28, 2026, stated that the couple’s marriage had been “irreversibly damaged” and alleged prolonged emotional, financial and professional control. They are also seeking dissolution of the marriage and joint custody arrangements for their children, with some online reports indicating that the petition has been filed at the Lagos State High Court.

However, while reacting to the circulating documents, Vincent confirmed that they were not genuine and pointed out what he described as clear legal inconsistencies.

According to him, the document contains several formatting and procedural errors that do not normally appear in official court filings, raising serious doubts about its authenticity. “The documents being circulated online are fake. They do not originate from a valid legal process and should not be taken seriously,” said Vincent.

“It is fake and made up. First, the stage name cannot be maintained in any court around the world, as shown in the document. Even the lawsuit number in the document is dated back to 2024 (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178),” he said.

He urged fans and the public to ignore the rumors, and stressed that claims about a divorce between the two musicians were completely baseless.
