Prince Khaled Bin Talal announced the disappearance of his son, Prince Alwaleed Bin Khaled Bin Talal, after almost two decades in a coma after a serious road accident in London in 2005.
Prince Khaled said that funeral prayers for his son will be held on Sunday at the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh, following ASR’s prayer.
Well known as “The Sleeping Prince”, Prince Alwaleed fell in a complete coma after the accident during his studies in the United Kingdom.
He remained under a close medical supervision for almost 20 years, never resuming consciousness despite short episodes of limited movement that offered fleeting moments of hope.
During this period, Prince Khale has firmly resisted to remove vital support, expressing an unshakable faith that life and death rest exclusively in the hands of God.
The conditions of his son have attracted immense sympathy throughout the kingdom and beyond, with millions of people who have followed his story closely over the years.
