Softbank, Oracle joined OPENAI at the Multi-Miliaran Dollar Data Center

OpenAI continues to advance with ambitious Stargate initiatives, confirm plans to build five new data centers in partnerships with Oracle and Softbank.

The project, which can cost tens of billions of dollars, is designed to secure the computing power needed for the next generation of border -made intelligence systems.

The new data center will increase the projection of the stargate capacity to 7 gigawatts, which is enough energy to provide power to more than 5 million households, according to a statement released by Openai on Wednesday.

Oracle is working on the development of three new web sites. They can be found in Doña Ana County, New Mexico; Shackelford County, Texas; and unknown places in Midwest. Softbank is working on the development of two other locations, one in Milam County, Texas, and the other in Lordstown, Ohio.

The Stargate project represents one of the most ambitious AI infrastructure businesses ever announced. Each facility will be designed to host millions of graphic processing units (GPU) and other special AI accelerators, allowing opening for the scale of AI models that are getting bigger and more complex.

OpenAI has partnered with Microsoft Azure for cloud services, but the inclusion of Oracle and Softbank marks significant strategic expansion. Oracle is expected to contribute the expertise of the company’s cloud infrastructure and the presence of global data centers, while softbank is regulated to play an important role in financing projects and has the potential to integrate it with telecommunications and technology ecosystems, especially in Asia.
