Solanke equals Saka, Defoe’s scoring feat against Man United

Dominic Solanke equaled the goalscoring feat of Bukayo Saka and Jermaine Defoe against Manchester United after getting among Tottenham’s goals at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Solanke scored Tottenham’s third goal in the north London team’s 3-0 win over 10-man United.

The former Bournemouth striker connected his outstretched legs to a headed pass from a corner to put Spurs ahead 3-0.

His goal means he is only the third English player to score in three consecutive Premier League games against United, after Defoe in November 2002 and Saka in January 2023.

United had to play most of the match with 10 men after a straight red card was shown to Bruno Fernandes.

Brennan Johnson had given the Spurs the lead just three minutes into the game when he scored a goal into the empty net.

Dejan Kulusevski then made it 2-0 by guiding home a deflected cross from the right.
