A Policeman identified as Ukasha Muhammad has been shot dead by soldiers in Bauchi State.
Spokesman of the state police command, Ahmed Deputy, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday in Bauchi.
He said one of the suspects, Private Usman Mubarak (23NA/84/5346), who was part of the Special Task Force (STF) of Operation Safe Haven in Jos, Plateau State, had been detained by police officers.
The incident, according to his spokesman, occurred on Friday evening in the state capital.

The statement read: “On October 10, 2025, at approximately 10:35 p.m., the Bauchi State Police Command received a distress report in connection with a violent incident involving a patrol team led by Inspector Hussaini Samaila, which occurred during a routine patrol in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi.
“The patrol team experienced an attack on one of its members, Constable Ukasha Muhammed (F/No 533164), by two people in front of the Padimo Hotel. The remaining team members responded quickly, resulting in one suspect being arrested, while the others fled the scene.”
