The wife of the Governor of the State Anambra, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has questioned Senator Uche Ekwunife, Deputy Candidate of the Governor of the Congress of All Progressive (APC), accusing him to make a “evil and baseless” claim to the Soludo family.
In a statement on Saturday, Dr. Soludo rejected the accusation as a fabrication and warned that he would begin a legal process if a former member of parliament failed to withdraw the statement and issue an apology within 72 hours. He also challenged Ekwunife to a public oath and DNA test to eliminate the remaining doubts during the campaign.
The dispute came from a viral video circulating since Tuesday where Senator Ekwunife accused that Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife were related to the administration of the late Governor Chinwoke Mbadineju between 1999 and 2003.

Responding to, Dr. Soludo rejected the claim directly and described what he called a fact that could be verified: that he had never worked under the government of any government, never met the late Mbadinuju, and only knew her husband, Chukwuma Soludo.
He further challenged Ekwunife to swear loyalty in the Catholic Cathedral and propose DNA tests for the two families to be done in London, with all the costs borne by him.
Meanwhile, Senator Ekwunife, in a separate statement, underestimated the confrontation, described his previous comments as “friendly advice.” He stated that Mrs. Soludo did not owe an explanation to him, insisting that any clarification must be directed to the Governor. Ekwunife added that his focus continued to contribute positively to the Anambra State and fight with what he described as “wrongly set.”
