SOS: Invasion of the Ikeja electrical office: because military authority must call their men to order, by Emmanuel Ajibulu

There is no justification for the gestapo and the raw action of some soldiers who invaded the offices of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company already at 7:40 am on Thursday 6 March 2025.

This barbaric raid is condemned and further represents a serious violation of democratic rights and freedoms of law that respect the Nigerians who are simply undertaking in their daily activities. Even during the military regime, these invasions were unheard of. This action marks a new minimum in Nigeria security operations and also acts as a previous dangerous for the democracy of the nation.

It is sad to see terrified employees in the Ikeja electrical offices in Lagos who got angry safe while the situation intensified, with many reported that they hidden to avoid comparison with armed and icy soldiers.

The glass doors and windows were shattered, some staff members moved away against their desires. This is totally unacceptable, reprehensible, absurd and completely denigrated. The alleged disconnection of the Nigerian Air Force Logistic Base in Ikeja is a civil question and there are ways to solve it without resorting to this dangerous and precarious self-help.

Ikeja Electric is one of the main electricity distribution companies in Nigeria and is known for taking a significant step to improve its customer service, quickly accepting its response to the complaints of subscribers.

Thursday’s scenario raised concerns about the safety of workers in the electrical sector, with the requests of authority to intervene and prevent further attacks from the company’s staff.

Although it should be strongly established that the Nigerian armed forces (NAF) consist of disciplined, patriotic, responsible and professionals officers, must also be presented that a situation like this must never be treated with children’s gloves and the managers of this drastic act should be consequently sanctioned.

This is also an alarm bell for the government of Nigeria and, above all, the military authorities for them to quickly examine this embarrassing situation allowing justice and good reasoning to reign supreme, also making aware of human dignity and pragmatic solutions in the surname. God bless Nigeria
