South West Derby ends in Stalemate as fleeting stars, Ikorodu City share the loot

The first southwest derby of the NPFL26 season produced a very disputed matter when Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) was taken to a 1-1 draw by the city of Ikorodu in the Lekan Salami sports complex, Ibadan, Sunday.

The Oluyole Warriors began when Sodiq Ibraheem broke the point of the dead in the 10th minute, finishing a rapid movement to give the hosts the early control. But the city of Ikorodu, playing with confidence in its second season at the NPFL, clung to its way back and hit just before part time. Shola Adelani silenced the local crowd in the 45th minute with a well taken draw, ensuring that Oga’s children enter the rest level.

The second half fooked fiercely, with both teams creating openings but not finding a winner. Fleeting stars exceeded possession with 52%, while Ikorodu City forged more opportunities (9 to 8) and proved to be dangerous at the counter.
