Spain replaces Argentina as the leading soccer team, Nigeria down to 45

The Spanish national soccer team has replaced Argentina as the world’s number one team in men’s football in the latest FIFA.

The winner of the UEFA Euro 2024 rose one place to 1, a place that they had not lived in the men’s match since returning in June 2014.

Joining Spain in surpassing the current world champion is the Argentine team defeated in the FIFA 2022 World Cup final, France (22, up 1).

The latest rank, released by FIFA on their official website today (Thursday), also saw Super Eagles of Nigeria down from the 45th position.

On July, Super Eagles has dropped from the 44th position to 44.

As a result, Nigeria is now sixth in Africa behind Morocco (1), Senegal (22), Egypt (3rd), Algeria (4th) and Ivory Coast (5th).
