The Ogun state of the State of Ogun did a sincere protest on Wednesday, urged the government to overcome the insecurity they said paralyzing food production and endangering life.
Women specifically demand firm action against criminal herds who destroy plants and kill farmers who dare to speak.
Lined up on the roads of Abeokuta, the protesters carry the placard that conveys their trouble and frustration message, highlighting the impact of destroying insecurity. Some plaques read, “Stop destroying our agriculture,” “Stop killing our farmers,” “We want Fulani’s cows to stay abroad,” and “Stop raping our children.”
Speaking to journalists at the State Secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) at Oke Ileewo, Abeokuta, Adeshola Kogbodoku, female leader, explained the purpose of their demonstrations. “It is very difficult for people to run their legitimate business, our father and mother can no longer go to their agriculture,” he said.
Kogbodoku linked the lack of the country’s acute food and increased poverty with a sense of insecurity. “The lack of food that we are talking about is the result of this unsafe problem. We are not able to buy Gawari anymore, the greater poverty is worrying, and all of this is a result of insecurity. Traveling from Abeokuta to Lagos is a burden because you can be kidnapped on the road,” he complained.

He called Governor Dapo Abiodun and President of Bola Tinubu to intensify their efforts in combating unsafe, which he described made life unbearable for citizens.
“These cruel cattle herders kill our people, use their cows to eat and destroy what people have planted, and if the owner says anything, these shepherds will kill them and nothing will happen. Our mothers cannot go to the farm anymore, they are kidnapped or raped. Now it becomes very difficult for families with three children to eat three squares,” Kogb.
“We hereby ask the President of Bola Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun to help the people. The government must pursue these criminals and smoke they come out of their hiding places,” he pleaded.
Kogbodoku stressed the need for a stronger attitude towards the perpetrators. “We have a means, the government must stop caring for these criminals with children’s gloves. Inequity is a big problem, if people can go to agriculture and complete their agricultural activities without interruption of these criminals, there will be more food in circulation, and people will be able to make good money for themselves from their agricultural products and that will gradually reduce poverty among people who grow among people.
