The recent games played by the Nigerian national team have given the chief coach Eric Chelle a reason to make a decision on four players who were part of the games.
Super Eagles played two games in the Unity Cup defeating Ghana 2-1 before beating Jamaica 5-4 in penalty in the final after a 2-2 draw in the regulation time.
They went to Moscow immediately after the tournament and played a 1-1 Drew against Russia in an international friendly on Friday, concluding their preparations for the resumption of games in the World Cup qualifiers in September.
Chelle has reached certain conclusions of the games for what we gathered exclusively and has now taken a definitive position on five team players who go to their next set of international games.
The upper part of the list is Victor Boniface, whom the coach was not impressed in the game against Russia, which removed Tolu Arokodare, who scored the winner. Chelle was unhappy with his lack of effort, tracking back and also pressing. In a nutshell, he could not put a change required to play the manager’s system.
According to all indications, Boniface probably does not play for the team in the closest future, something that foresees in its publication now eliminated on Instagram, where he announced his retirement from international football.
Reverse is the case of 30 -year -old Cyriel despair who is now ready to be part of the configuration as one of Victor Osimhen’s backup copies of first choice. He impressed Chelle with his constant career, pressing and also a presence in the penalty area in the two games he played in the Unity Cup.
Another player who made his way in the configuration is Frank Onyaka with Chelle, was impressed with his work rate and covered distance. Something that adapts to the idea of seeing games.
Brentford’s young defender, Benjamin Fredrick, also caused an impression on the manager who now has it as his fourth choice center. A situation that could change quickly if Brentford’s first team bursts into.
Chelle has also seen in the games that Bruno Onyemaechi can be limited against opponents that press at the top of the countryside, and will probably leave him out of the future games with Felix Agu now ahead of him in the race to be supporting Ola Aina.
