The Kaa Gent Belgian League Club has officially confirmed the departure of Jordan Torunarigha after the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2024/25 season.
The imposing central, which joined Gent in a permanent agreement in the summer of 2022 after an impressive loan spell by Hertha Berlin, leaves the buffalo after three and a half years impressive.
Torunarigha, born in Germany, changed his international loyalty to Nigeria and made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2023.
Since he arrived in Belgium, he has established himself as a defensive pillar for Gent, becoming a constant presence in the heart of his background.
During his time with the club, the 27 -year -old made 145 appearances in all competitions and played a crucial role in the triumph of Gent in the Belgian Cup of 2022.
In a shared sincere farewell message through the official Gent channels, Torunarigha reflected on his time with the club with a deep appreciation:
“I would like to thank the club for the wonderful moment here in Gante. We experienced intense years together who developed me as a footballer and as a person.
“Also a great thanks to our fans, who have always supported me. The highlight was undoubtedly the Cup in 2022. Now the time has come to take on a new challenge and take the next step in my career. I wish you all the best for the future!”

While his departure was expected, given the previous transfer speculation, Gent had chosen to keep Torunarigha until the end of his contract despite the interests of other clubs.
The reports suggest that he had considered a move during the last two years.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Torunarigha is again attracting interest.
It has been linked to several of the best European teams, including Borussia Monchengladbach, Lyon and Marseille.
More recently, the newly promoted side of the Bundesliga FC Colonia has become a potential destination.
According to reports, Billy’s goats are interested in reinforcing their team before the new campaign, and Torunarigha’s experience could be a vital addition to helping them remain in the highest category in Germany.
