Belgian club Club Brugge have been rocked by a transfer request submitted by Nigerian international midfielder Raphael Onyedika as they attempt to force through a move to Turkish club Galatasaray, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Galatasaray signed Onyedika’s international team-mate Victor Osimhen on loan from Napoli last week and are now looking to bolster their midfield with the 23-year-old before the window closes in Turkey.
A personal agreement has already been reached with Onyedika while he was with the Nigerian national team, but the deal with Club Brugge is far from being done and both parties have yet to agree on the exact value of his transfer.
However, Onyedika is desperate to join the Turkish side and has submitted an application to the club after rejecting the Turkish side’s first offer as they are expecting a fee of around €30m.
Galatasaray are reportedly willing to pay half that amount, but with a high salary for the player, almost double what he currently earns in Belgium. That is why the player, who has been eager to leave, is pushing for an agreement between both parties.
