Gunmen suspected of being bandits on Saturday morning kidnapped the parish priest of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Raymond Damba in Gusau, Zamfara State, Pastor Fr. Mikah Sulaiman.
Spokesperson for the state police command, Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident to journalists in Gusau.
He said the pastor was kidnapped at around 03.00 am, at his residence in the Damba area of ​​the state capital.
The spokesperson added that the command had deployed its tactical forces to rescue the victim without injury.

“Yes, it happened early this morning, the Pastor was kidnapped at his residence. We were not told when the incident occurred but what I know is that the man lived alone and was not in the church.
“We have deployed tactical troops to pursue the kidnappers to rescue the victims without injury,” said Abubakar.
