Suspicion arrested for mass murder of people in Anambra

A main suspicion was arrested in relation to the brutal killing of 13 people in the community of Ogboji, in the area of ​​the local government of Orumba in the south of the State of Anambra.

The victims, all who is said to be indigenous of the state of Ebonyi, were attacked on June 30th while attending a monthly general meeting of the Abakaliki community. The armed men stormed the gathering in two SUVs and opened fire, killing several people on the spot.

Safety sources have confirmed that a joint task force, which acts in credible intelligence, arrested a Sunday Mbamu – originally from Abakaliki, a state of Ebonyi, who resides in Ogboji. It is believed to be the mind behind the attack.

The police authorities have said that Mbamu is currently in custody and subject to interrogations. It is said that he has made “useful statements” that are helping the investigations in progress.

The security agents have ensured the public that further arrests will follow the efforts to trace the remaining attackers.
