‘Sustainable Detention Kanu doesn’t make sense anymore’ —OBI

The presidential candidate from the Labor Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has asked about sustainable detention from the leader of the Biafra indigenous people (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, by the Nigerian government, saying it does not make sense anymore.

The former Governor of the State Anambra who asked questions while speaking in a television channel political program on Sunday night, said he had struggled to understand why the leader of IPOB was arrested for allegedly insulting or speaking against those who were in government.

Obi, who also used the opportunity to express his intention to run for president in 2027, said that if he won, he would advocate cases of political solutions I similar to Kanu’s throughout the country.

“For each of them, I mean, why is he still detained? It doesn’t make sense to me,” he said.

“Some people say because he uses vulgar words and everything. I haven’t seen it yet. They say he uses vulgar words.

“But that doesn’t bother me if I am president whether you call me a thief or an idiot, which they call me today. That doesn’t bother me.

“My job as a leader is for ordinary people to put food on their table.

“If there are people I can talk to, I will talk to them … Say tomorrow we have a bandit that operates in the northeast, I will meet him.

“But that is only to build a link to say enough. And after that, I will face it firmly,” he said.
