The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has officially confirmed the qualifications of Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna and Africa’s Lynda Loghraibi for the singles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics in France.
As the countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games intensifies, the ITTF is pleased to announce significant progress in the qualification process for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
With less than 50 days to go until the games, this week’s world rankings update has seen eight athletes secure their participation based on Continental quota selection allocated by the World Rankings.
In a statement released by the ITTF, representatives from Africa, America, Asia and Europe added depth and intrigue to the upcoming competition.
The Men’s Singles draw welcomes African powerhouse Quadri Aruna from Nigeria, along with talented American Nicolas Burgos from Chile.

Asia’s Kirill Gerassimenko of Kazakhstan and Europe’s Alvaro Robles of Spain, who previously qualified in Mixed Doubles, also booked their places.
The Women’s Singles Competition showcases global talent of the same level. Algeria’s Lynda Loghraibi (Africa), Puerto Rico’s Adriana Diaz (America), Singapore’s Zhou Jingyi (Asia) and Monaco’s Yang Xiaoxin (Europe) can now officially begin their preparations for their Olympic dreams in Paris.
With only one world ranking update scheduled before the final Paris list is confirmed, the qualifying process reaches its penultimate stage. Next week’s world rankings will be crucial in determining the final contenders for the highly anticipated 2024 Paris Olympics.
86 men and 86 women are expected to compete in Olympic singles events
Additionally, the ITTF has also appointed three Africans β Akram Ben Attia (Tunisia), Es-Sayed Elrawdy (Egypt), and Ronald Mugwanya (Uganda) as referees for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
