Taraba Muslim Council forbids a wedding party

The Muslim Council of Taraba State State Taraba has officially forbade all forms of weddings in Jalingo, the state of the state, quoting immoral actions for the decision.

The main priest of the Mayo Gwoi Jummat Mosque, Jalingo, Imam Tajudeen Nuhu, who announced the ban on Saturday on behalf of the Taraba Muslim Council, said the decision was taken after a broad consultation with Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, and local authority.

Imam Nuhu stated that the prohibition specifically targeted popular events such as the Bkacyawawa and Ajo parties, who were known for attracting the big meetings of young people who often wore tattered clothes and dancing until late at night.
