Teen Boy Kills Girlfriend’s Father Over ‘Inappropriate’ Social Media Posts – Police – TrendyNewsReporters

A Florida teenager is in police custody, accused of killing his girlfriend’s father after a heated argument on social media over “inappropriate” photos. The teenager, Lawan Jr. Jones, 18, turned himself in to police three days after fleeing. His girlfriend’s father, Keith Poole, 44 (pictured below), was shot multiple times outside his home and in front of his children in Pompano Beach, Florida. Jones was in a relationship with Mr. Poole’s daughter, Jessie, and lived in the home with Poole and his family. Police said witnesses spoke of an argument between Jones and Mr. Poole after the protective father saw the couple’s social media posts that he deemed inappropriate. According to the arrest affidavit, the witness told police at the scene that Mr. Poole “noticed that the suspect had posted photographs of himself with a firearm on social media.” The witness said the victim told Jones that it was inappropriate for him to do this while he was living in her home and that he should leave. ‘The witness told police that Jones was angry about the confrontation and ‘threatened that he could have his friends come over and “take care of the problem. ‘ ‘ This prompted Poole to once again insist that Jones leave his home, leading him to the front door and standing in the doorway. The affidavit states: ‘The witness stated that Jones walked several steps away from the front door, then turned, pulled a handgun from a satchel over his right shoulder and pointed it at the victim. ‘ Jones then fired two shots, striking the victim in the face and chest. The witness noted that the victim was not aggressive and did not pose a physical threat to the suspect. ‘ The arrest affidavit states that police at the scene observed ‘an open front door with blood inside and outside the immediate area of the door. ‘ Tributes poured in for the father, who is remembered by loved ones as an ‘amazing human being’ who people gravitated towards. One said: ‘The way you raised and cared for your children was unmatched, you would do anything to make sure everyone around you was okay.’ ‘His aura alone speaks volumes.’ Another wrote: ‘You were a true legend in Miami. ‘You were so kind to all of us, we made some amazing memories. You will be truly missed. You are now a star in the universe and will shine forever.’
