The police operation in South Africa has directed a Nigerian televangelist, Timothy Omotoso, for alleged violations of rape and immigration.
Omotoso was released in April after spending nine years in prison for raping and sexually harassing some young women in his church.
Commissioner General of the Police, Fannie Masemola, confirmed the news to journalists on Saturday at Johannesburg.
He said the immigration and police authorities arrested the 66 -year -old man after the church service in the city of East London on Saturday morning.
“He will face accusations related to violations of immigration laws, and he will appear in court on Monday,” added the Masemola.
Omotoso, a priest with the Church of Jesus Dominion International (JDI) based in South Africa was arrested in 2017 on accusations of 32 rape calculations, sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
