Nathan Tella expressed excitement following his debut for the Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Despite being benched in the clash against Lesotho’s Likuena, the 24-year-old former Southampton man seized the opportunity and started in the game against Zimbabwe.
Tella played a significant role before being substituted after the break.
Taking to his Instagram page, he shared his joy, saying, “Good experience away. Happy to make my debut for Super Eagles.”
The Bayer Leverkusen forward switched allegiance to Nigeria from England.
With World Cup qualifiers on hold, Tella will be aiming for inclusion in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
