The tension grabbed the residents of the OSI community in the area of the local government of the north of the wave state following the kidnapping of an agricultural owner, Holrewaju Oyleye, and his manager.
The armed men, according to sources, invaded the farm over the weekend and kidnapped the two victims.
The farm is located a few kilometers from Akure airport.
A family source said that armed men made contact and requested a redemption of N100 million before the victims could be released.
The Akure airport axis has become a feared area, since the criminals, in particular the kidnappers, have transformed the communities into the area into points of choice for their operations.
The source of the family added that Oyleye, 50 years old, had moved four years ago from abroad to create the mechanized farm in Akure.
As he confirmed the accident, the commander of the body Amotekun in the State, Adventunji Adeleye, who stated that the agents had been lined up in the area to save the victims and arrest the kidnappers, said: “Our men are working tirelessly to make sure that the victims are saved by the kidnappers, while we are monitoring their position.”
In the meantime, following the latest accidents coupled with incessant kidnappings in the area, the residents of Akure North, in particular in the Oba-le, Osi and Eleyowo axes, have been grasped with fear and tension.
With the news of the kidnapping of Oyleye and his manager who filtered in the city, other farmers quickly abandoned their farms and rushed home. [Daily Post]
