Tensions as young people, women protest in Kano, demanding justice for Edo’s murder

Hundreds of young men and women who were disadvantaged on Monday, took to the road canoeing of metropolis, to protest the murder of 16 North Mosquisons in Uromi, Esan Area of ​​the northern regional government in the state of Edo last week.

The protesters lined up on the paths to wave their placards as the convoy of Governor Abba Yusuf and his Edo state colleague, Monday Okpebholo, who passed during their visit to the families of the victims, also requested the Governor to ensure that the families of the victims were immediately compensated.

Yusuf who spoke to the protesters, promised cash assistance and food supply to the affected families, while Okpebholo also convinced the family that compensation would be given and reiterate his commitment to ensure that justice was served.

The two governors also reiterated their commitment to ensure that the perpetrators were taken to court and that such incidents did not happen again.

Protests have created tensions in some parts, especially among non -northern people in that section, because narration, especially on social media, has quipped attacks on non -northern people over the murder of Edo.

The authorities and other stakeholders continue to call for peace, with the promises that justice will be served.
