Armed people suspected of being a member of the Lakurawa terrorist group reportedly killed 13 local vigilantous group members in Morai Village, Augi Regional Government in the Kebbi state.
According to counter-terrorism and security experts, Zagazola Makama, terrorists invaded the village on Sunday night and tried to blabber on cows.
They, however, were confronted by vigilante members, which caused the exchange of shots.
“The attack occurred on Sunday when the attackers invaded the village and tried to undermine the cattle,” Makama wrote in his X grip on Monday.

“Acting based on intelligence, local residents have taken refuge in the bush nearby and launched an ambush to restore livestock and expel the attackers.
“However, residents did not realize that they had been surrounded.
“As soon as the guards moved to intercept, the attackers fired, killing at least 13 of them in the spot. The village where the attack occurred was only about three kilometers from us.
“Six bodies have so far been found and placed to rest according to Islamic rites, when the remaining victims’ search continued.”
