Under the Ministry of Public Health, the Department of Traditional Medicine and Thai alternative is collaborating with provincial health offices and national agencies to expand the wellness centers across the country.
This initiative is part of the largest soft power strategy of the Thai government, focusing on health tourism as an engine of economic growth and international visibility.
According to the Department of Public Relations Thai relations, the tourism sector of health and well -being of Thailand has generated over 12.3 billion dollars in 2023, marking an increase of 119.5 percent year by year.
The country currently hosts over 2,180 certified wellness centers.
The strategic plan includes the creation of job opportunities and a better construction of skills in the professions related to wellness.
It aims to build a robust wellness ecosystem by integrating the biodiversity of Thailand, traditional knowledge and hospitality with modern therapeutic practices.
According to official information, the Thai government is destined to launch further global campaigns that show the country in this sector.
