A young footballer died while he was subjected to a knee operation. The young Argentine Camilo Nuin, who was only 18 years old, died tragically while he was treated in what is considered common surgery.
Nuin, 18 years old, is said to be under the knife in an attempt to face the meniscal and crocuse injuries to restore stability in its articulation. But unfortunately, the teenager was confirmed dead on Wednesday evening by his club, San Telmo, after seeing the procedure undertaken to the Espora clinic in Adrogue, Buenos Aires.
The reserve player has not yet seen a cause of death announced, with his suggestion that an autopsy will take place when his body is transferred to the morgue of La Plata. Many of the teammates of Nuin’s team in the reserve division learned only the news shortly before the San Telmo match against Defonges de Belgrano.
Nuin had been with the club since 2022, having previously enjoyed spells in the fittings of the Boca Juniors Academy and Independent. San Telmo is observing a period of mourning and has offered their support to friends and Nuin family.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the disappearance of Camilo Ernesto Nuin, a player of our divisions for our young people and reserves, who today has undergone surgery,” said San Telmo. “The club will remain closed today as a sign of mourning.
“In this difficult moment we join his family, friends and teammates and we remain at their disposal for everything they might need.”
In a declaration, the Argentine football association said: “The Argentine football association, through the president Claudio Tapia and the executive committee, expresses his pain to the death of Camilo Nuin and extends his condolences to the player’s family”.
