The 2024 CAF Super Cup final will be held in Riyadh

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, and His Excellency Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), have officially announced that Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will host the CAF TotalEnergies Super Cup 2024 Final.

This highly anticipated match will pit CAF TotalEnergies Champions League winners Al Ahly SC against CAF TotalEnergies Confederation Cup winners Zamalek SC against each other.

The match is scheduled for Friday, 27 September 2024. Details regarding the venue and kick-off time will be revealed shortly by CAF.

CAF President Dr. Motsepe highlighted the strong partnership and mutual commitment between CAF and Saudi Arabia, and expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with the General Entertainment Authority.

He stressed the importance of the match, stating:
“The partnership between CAF and Saudi Arabia is based on the excellent relationship and mutual commitment of both parties.

“CAF is excited to work together and partner with the General Entertainment Authority. We look forward to the CAF TotalEnergies Super Cup 2024 Final between two of Africa’s most popular and successful clubs, namely Al Ahly and Zamalek.”

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh also expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the event during the Riyadh season, a period known for attracting major international sporting events. He noted:

“We are delighted to host the African Super Cup in Riyadh, which represents one of the most important tournaments on the African continent.

“Two football giants from our sister country, the Arab Republic of Egypt, are taking part in this event: Al-Ahly and Zamalek. We are all looking forward to a competitive match that lives up to its promise.”
