The Amaechi ‘Presidential Offer of 2027’

The Federal Capital Region Minister, Nyesom Wike, has put aside every opportunity for its predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, who fought successfully in the 2027 presidential election, stated that the former Minister of Transportation’s ambition “Died at the time of arrival.”

Speaking of today’s politics, the television program channel on Tuesday, Wike insisted that Amaechi would not even secure his new party ticket, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“He (Amaechi) knew he would not get a ticket. I read that he said he knew the president’s weaknesses, so he knew how to defeat him, but he also knew the weaknesses of the president in 2022 when the president defeated him mercilessly at the primer,” Wike said.

Minister FCT argues that Amaechi’s record in the government disqualified him from being considered a credible challenger.

“Nigerians know the last person they will give to tickets because they know (Amaechi’s offer) is dead during arrival,” he said.

Wike also accused Amaechi of not respecting the rule of law during his term of office as Governor of Rivers State between 2007 and 2015.

“He could not fight corruption, he could not captivate a good government because he did not respect the judiciary and the rule of law when he became the Governor of the State,” Wike allegations.

Amaechi, who left the Congress of All Progressive (APC) in 2025 to join the ADC, was looking for the presidential presidency after fighting for APC primers in 2022, where he lost to the Governor of the State Lagos at that time, Bola Tinubu.

Both politicians, both former Governor of the State Rivers, have become a bitter rival for many years, with their feud continued to form political alignments in Delta Niger.
