The Anglican Church prohibits politicians from using the pulpit after the wike explosion

The Nigerian Anglican Church has released a strict guideline that prohibits politicians and government officials from using pulpits to make political statements.

The memo added that the decision was aimed at curbing the increasing use of religious platforms for political messages, and to protect the integrity of Christian worship, insisting that politicians and government officials must be clearly notified that the church is not a stage to promote the opinion of political partisan or propaganda.

“The church recognizes the greater concern about the politicization of religious meetings, which he said could threaten its core values and the Divine mission,” part of the memo rang.

“The church must be diligent in avoiding speeches, behavior, or events that can incite the division or foster political bias in the body of Christ.

“Church leaders and officials must refrain from making statements or behaving in a way that can be interpreted as a person who is aligned politically or sectionally.

“These decisions reflect the church’s intention to preserve their spiritual integrity and public trust in dealing with concerns that developed the politicization of religious meetings in Nigeria.

“While politicians are still welcomed to worship and participate in church programs, the Anglican Church remains committed to its main call … to become the” Light of the World and Salt of the Earth “(Matthew 5: 13–14).

“⁠ No church officials must praise or elevate any guests in a way that might make the church bad.

“Everywhere possible, guests should not be allowed to use the podium of the church when speaking, because it has been ordained for the reading of God’s Word.

“The church is not a platform for political campaigns or propaganda,” said the memo.
