The Army is investigating a viral video of a disciplinary incident at the Command Secondary School


The Nigerian Army has launched an investigation into a viral video circulating on social media showing disciplinary action taken against a female student of Command Secondary School Ipaja in Lagos.

The incident reportedly occurred on February 26, 2026, during a routine classroom inspection conducted to enforce school regulations.

According to preliminary findings from the 81st Division of the Nigerian Army, the student was found to be improperly dressed during the inspection and handed over her shoes to a classmate before the exercise. He is also said to have drawn a caricature of the inspecting officer.

Reacting to the development, the Army expressed concern over the incident and assured the public that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness.

Authorities have confirmed that the officer involved in the disciplinary action is currently under investigation, while a thorough review of the circumstances of the incident is underway.

The Army reiterated that the well-being, safety and dignity of students in its schools remain a top priority, assuring the public of its commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful and disciplined learning environment in all of its educational institutions.
