The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Bago, has given unconditional country for 11 prisoners from the Correctional Center in the death sentence.
Attorney General and Commissioner of State Justice, Mr. Nasiru Mu’azu, revealed this when giving direction to journalists on Tuesday in Minna.
He said the prisoners were involved in a communal clash between the Gaba and Anfani community in the Lavun regional government in the state, where a number of people were killed and property were destroyed.
The commissioner said that the dance of the state was in exercising constitutional power in Bago, following a written request that was reviewed between the Governor and the State Advisory Committee regarding the prerogative rights of compassion.

He said the movement was also part of the reconciliation effort to ensure lasting peace between the two communities, added that several meetings had been held, and all problems were resolved.
He revealed that the forgiveness instrument was signed on May 28 and had been determined.
The forgiveness given is – Mohammed Mohammed, Nana Sheshi, Isah Nmadu, Mohammed Mohammed Ndabida, Abubakar Salihu, and Baba Shaba.
Others are – Adamu Babaminin, Haruna Mohammed, Isah Mohammed Alhaji Inuwa, Ibrahim Mohammed, and Mohammed Isah.
