The family members said that his last contact was around 14:00 on Monday, when he informed them that his vehicle had broken down to Mokwa, in the state of the Niger.

Shortly after the car was repaired, it disappeared and its kidnappers subsequently reached to ask for ₦ 200 million.
A student near the victim, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the family is currently in negotiations with the kidnappers while fighting to raise funds.
The efforts to get an answer from the Niger State Police Command were not successful, since the calls and messages to the spokesperson, Wasiu Inhabitun, remained unanswered at the time of the presentation of this relationship.
