Thursday, a 29 -year -old loan officer, Ayomide Lamidi appeared before a court of the magistrates of Ogudu, Lagos, for presumably stolen n11.6 million belonging to his employer, FCMB MICROFINANCE Bank.
The prosecutor, Sunday Bassey, told the Court that the accused committed the crime between January and July 2025 in the bank branch located along Ikorodu Road, Ketu.
Bassey said that an internal audit revealed that the defendant defined the reimbursements and deposits of the loans of customers for personal use without putting them back on the bank account.
He said that the Bank’s Auditor, Mr. Adbowale adhesion and the Director of the branch, Yetunde Ogundere, reported the question to the police after discovering the fraud.

The prosecutor added that during the interrogation, the defendant admitted the law.
He said the crime violated section 287 (7) of the criminal law of the state of Lagos, 2015.
The magistrate, Mrs. Oa Dadu, granted the deposit of the defendant in the sum of N700,000 with two surety in similar sum.
The case was updated until 7 October 2025, for further hearings.
