The Benue Assembly confirmed the six commissioners’ nominations, rejected 2

The Benue State Assembly Council on Wednesday confirmed that only six of the eight commissioners’ nominations were elected by Governor Hyacinth Alia.

The assembly, however, rejected two nominations because of the petition submitted to them.

Those who were confirmed in the plenary held in Makurdi were Dr. Benjamin Ashaver, Dr. Peter Egbodo, Mrs. Theresa Ikwue, Mr. Denis Iyaghigba, Dr. Paul Ogwuche, and Dr. Margaret is your.

Candidates who were rejected were – Dr. Timothy Alnges and Mr. James Dwem.

MPs stated that there were four petitions relating to Victimization of the Urban Village by a former student of the University of Moses Orshio Adasu, Makurdi, where he worked as a lecturer.

DWEM has two petitions against him, which borders the embezzlement and retrieval of regional government funds while serving as the Chairperson of the Makurdi Regional Government in the state.

In his decision, the speaker of the Parliament, Hyacinth Dajoh, urged the Governor to continue two new nominations from Kwande and Makurdi to replace the two.
