The British government deported 43 failed asylum seekers, the convicted person, the others to Nigeria, Ghana

The British government has deported 43 people to Nigeria and Ghana.

Deported people include 15 failed asylum seekers and 11 people who have completed their prison sentences.

A report on Gov.uk on Friday also revealed that seven people chose to leave the country voluntarily.

The exercise, according to the report, marked other steps in restoring discipline to the immigration system and ensuring that immigration laws were upheld and those who did not have the legal right to remain immediately returned to their home country.

More than 24,000 people have been deported since Prime Minister Keir Starmer served on July 5, 2024.

This is an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year.

Deportation of foreign national violators also increased by 16%, with 3,594 criminals removed from England.

In his words, the Minister of Security and Research and Security of the British Border, Angela Eagle, said: “This flight shows how international partnerships meet the priorities of people who work for fast returns and secure the border. Through change plans, we will go further in recovering the order of the damaged system, accelerating the return of those who do not have the right to be here and close the expensive Ashum Hotel.

“I thank the Ghana and Nigeria governments for facilitating this operation, which reflects our joint commitment to disrupt organized immigration crimes and protect our borders.”
