The Chairperson of the New APC, Dalori, continued the office

The new Chairperson of the All Progressives (APC) Congress, Ali Bukar Dalori, has promised to lead the ruling party towards the unity and success of the election, following the assumptions of his office on Monday, June 30.

Dalori, who previously served as Deputy Chairperson of the National Party (North), explained his vision in an interview with the BBC on Monday, where he emphasized reconciliation, internal harmony, and fair leadership as his direct priority.

“I must stand up and show all APC politicians that I have done my best to reconcile those who have problems with each other,” Dalori said. “Politics requires people, and politics need to take care of people.”

The new chairman recognizes internal divisions that have emerged at various party levels, from local governments to state chapters, and vowed to start a broad-based reconciliation process. He said this effort would involve personal involvement and appointment of representatives to mediate and rebuild trust among stakeholders who were harmed.

Overcoming speculation about the upcoming APC national convention, Dalori refrain from giving a certain time schedule, noting that the decision will be made collectively by the leadership of senior parties.

“There are senior officials that we need to consult, who will give orders whether the meeting will take place or not,” he said, showing that party unity would be prioritized than procedural problems that were rushed.

Dalori also responded to concerns about intra-party disputes, especially those from the northeast, the political base. He described the tension as a inherited political problem that will be handled through sustainable dialogue and inclusivity.

“Politics is bored with this. We are all one and the same, and we are still working with them all,” he convinced.

Commenting on the new defender from the parties from the opposition to the APC, Dalori associated a shift with concern between the opposition politicians about their political feasibility. According to him, such defense reflects trust in the APC platform and structure.

“They are afraid. If they live there, they will not be able to pursue their ambitions, so they come to us to find a way,” he said.

Dalori rejects the opposition efforts of unity as unimportant, stating that APC remains tough and ready to absorb political shocks.

“Well, I think the explosion that is expected will not happen because we have sewed it with a strong thread that will not break,” he said confidently.
