The court postponed the $ 150 million Nigerian settings against Google, Godaddy.com until May 27

Judge Obiora Egwuatu from the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday delayed the $ 150 million settings submitted by a Nigerian, Chianugo Peter, against Google LLC and Godaddy.com LLC, for alleged violations of the contract until May 27 for the trial.

The judge set a defense date to examine Peter’s cross after he was led in evidence almost by his lawyer, Emmanuel Ekpenyong, in a marked lawsuit: FHC/ABJ/CS/238/2023.

The lawsuit followed the alleged shutdown of the domain name of Peter YouTubeaudio.com after eight years of promotion and marketing efforts.

In his previous nickname that was proposed by Ekpenyong from the law firm Fred-Young & Evans LP, Nigeria accused that the defendants closed their domains and business names and transferred their rights to the name to Google LLC, a Multinational American technology company.

The lawsuit was filed on April 14, 2023.

Although Godaddy.com LLC did not submit any process or was represented in court, Google LLC, in the initial statement of his defense submitted on November 10, 2023, by his lawyer, Mark Mordi (SAN), from the Law Firm Aluko & Oyebode, urged the court to reject Peter’s lawsuit due to lack of services.

Judge Egwuatu, in April 2024, gave the Plaintiff to change his original process after his lawyer moved the application for the same thing and was not opposed by legal counsel.

In his claim statement amended dated April 29, 2024, Peter was looking for 10 reliefs.

He searched for a declaration that Godaddy.com was wrong to close the domain name of Youtubeaudio.com on December 7, 2022 and that Google was wrong to delete “Ytaudio” with its website Youtubeaudio.com from Google Playstore on December 25, 2023, without adequate compensation to him.
