The court rejected Mohbad’s father’s efforts to cancel Naira Marley, Sam Larry’s permission

The Lagos High Court in Ikeja has rejected the efforts of Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Mohbad, to reverse the DPP law advisor and the next court process which resulted in the release of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and several other people suspected of being involved in the murder of Mohbad.

The lawsuit aims to reverse the legal advice of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) who freed the music promoter Sam Larry, the owner of the Naira Marley label, and others who were directly involved in Mohbad’s death.

In his decision on Wednesday, Judge Taiwo Olatokun decided that the Attorney General for the State Lagos (acting through the DPP) had the right to decide whether to sue and that the court could not challenge the decision. As a result, the application was rejected, and the reliefs requested by Mohbad’s father were not provided.

While the coronary investigation of Mohbad’s death is still ongoing and has not been completed, Mr. Aloba, through his lawyer, Dr. Wahab Shittu (San), believes that the legal advice of the DPP has prematurely rejected claims to the suspects.

Quoting the lack of fair trial as a great justification for his appeal, he argues that important suspects found during the coronary procedure have been released based on this suggestion.

In their counter-Afidavit, the respondents of the State of the State of Lagos and DPP-Terawat, that the suspects were released rather than being released because there was not enough evidence that connected them in any way with Mohbad’s death.

In addition, they claim that both applicants and coronary do not have access to complete criminal case files that affect DPP decisions and that DPP evaluation of criminal case files is separate from coronary examination.

Wahab Shittu, San, Lawyer Mr. Aloba, stated that after the court’s decision that his client was ready to appeal to the decision and that they still believe their case was appropriate.
