The court rejects Verydarkman’s objection to Falana’s defamation lawsuit

Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, on Tuesday rejected the initial objection submitted by Instagram celebrities, Martins Otse, also known as Verydarkman (VDM).

A human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (San), and his son, Folan Falana (Falz), have filed a defamation lawsuit N1 billion against VDM.

Falana initiated the lawsuit after a cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye alias Bobrisky, accused him and his son wrong in audio recordings.

The prosecutors were looking for N500 million in damage to the video posted by VDM on their social media platforms.

Judge Fimisola Azeez rejected the objection of VDM and ordered him to pay each N100,000 to the two prosecutors as a fee.

The judge also directed the respondent to immediately submit his defense of the defamation claims made by him.

VDM has challenged court jurisdiction and argues that alleged violations occur outside the state of the Lagos.

In return, the prosecutors submitted counter-affidavit and written address in which they urged the court to reject objections.

The court rejected the initial objection of the VDM and postponed the case until July 8 to be mentioned.
