The Court renounces the business woman on an alleged theft of N34m in Lagos – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

A business woman, Oluwabukunola Gadzama, was accused on Wednesday before a high court of Ikeja for an alleged theft of n34 million.

Oluwabukunola was accused by the Commission for Economic and Financial Crime (EFCC) before the Ismail Ijelu judge on charges of theft and conservation of the proceeds of the crime.

He declared himself not guilty of the accusations.

The prosecutor of the EFCC prosecutor, Franklin Ofoma, prayed for a process date and an order for the postponement of the defendant at the correction structures pending trial.

The defender, I Lala, told the Court that he has a suspended question for the deposit of the accused of March 26, 2025.

Lala said that the defendant is ready to support the trial and that the crimes for which he is accused are based.

The Fuccc legal consultant objected to defend the deposit application.

Ofoma opposed the deposit for the accused. He informed the court that the accused is a risk of flight and had skipped the administrative deposit given by the EFCC on 20 November 2024.

Judge Ijelu, in his sentence, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N5 million.

“In line with justice, I grant the deposit of the defendant N5 million with two surety responsible in a similar sum.

“One of the surety must be a relationship and used provisionally. The resident address of the surety must be verified and must show evidence of the tax payment to the state government of Lagos in the last three years,” said the judge.
