The court stopped the police crush on the colored glass permit

The Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State, has ordered the Nigerian Police and the Police Inspector General to suspend the enforcement of colored glass permits for vehicle owners throughout the country.

In a temporary decision on Friday, the court directed the police to maintain the status quo and “Respect the Judicial Process that was waiting for further processes in this issue.”

The order was given at the opening of the hearing in the lawsuit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025, submitted by Legal Practitioner John Aikpokpo-Martin on the Inspector General of the Police and the Nigerian Police.

Aikpokpo-Martin approached the court to challenge the legality of Clampdown which was updated to the driver on a colored glass permit, which according to him has become a tool for harassment rather than legal law enforcement.
