Aminu Ogwuche and five other are facing accusations relating to the attack of April 14, 2014 which killed at least 70 people and wounded many others.

The witness, a 23 -year veteran of the Department of State Services (DSS), testified to the arrest and extradition of Ogwuche from Sudan.

He said that Ogwuche arrest was connected to the information provided by another defendant, Mohammed Ishaq, who described Ogwuche as a supporter of Boko Haram.

The witness said: “The first defendant had been known to the DSS as a person of interest who had previously been in custody having been deported from the United Kingdom”.

Ogwuche consultant, Nureni Jimh, San, opposed the testimony, claiming that the oral proof of the deportation was insufficient without supporting the documentation.

The accusation quoted section 7 of the test law, claiming that the fact of deportation was relevant for the case and admissible as an oral test.

The judge reserved the sentence on the matter until the final sentence.

The witness testified that the DSS had the profile of Ogwuche and the archive images and that Ishaq identified Ogwuche from a photographic training. He also said that Ishaq revealed that he and another suspicion, Dr. Tsiga, driven a car full of explosives in the El Rufai park.

The judge postponed the matter until July 24 for the continuation of hearing, citing the inability of the accusation to provide notice for the recovery of the necessary evidence.

The case had to face delays and challenges, including the elevation of the original judge of the trial, Ahmed Mohammed, to the Court of Appeal.

The new judge of the trial, Peter Lifu, warned the accusation of proceeding with the case or to face the dismissal.
