A former presidential assistant, Lauretta Onochie, aroused controversy after launching a letter to her former head, Muhammadu Buhari, claiming that President Bola Tinubu “swept away” the legacy of the former Nigerian leader.
In a highly formulated post shared on X, onochie, which was once president of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), accused President Tinubu of having betrayed Buhari and of abandoning the policies that were to guarantee the future of the country.
“Dear Baba, the man we worked hard to succeed you, believing that he would continue to serve the Nigerians where you stopped, dropped the Nigerians to the great,” wrote Onochie.
He complained what he described how the reversal of Buhari’s agricultural results, in particular his push to the production of rice, claiming that the Nigerian markets are now flooded with “imported rot” food products “. According to her, many local rice farmers who thrived under the administration of Buhari have been pushed out of the market due to the reopening of the borders to “import of poor and adulterated food”.
Onochie also expressed disappointment for the fact that basic products like Nigerian Ginger have become scarce in local markets. He insisted on the fact that the Mantra of Buhari to “cultivate what we eat and eat what cultivates” had been abandoned, warning that the Tinubu administration was undermining the food safety of Nigeria.
“Your mantra was that we have to grow what we eat and eat what cultivates. Instead of focusing on the construction of the progress you have done, they are obsessed to split your inheritance. We will not allow it,” he added.
In a frightening observation, Onochie derived the agricultural policy of the administration coined the term “tinubuggeria”, which described as a distortion of the vision of Buhari’s food security.
He concluded his assignment by declaring that the Nigerians never asked for the reforms currently implemented by the Tinubu government.
Despite his criticisms, Onochie remains a member of the ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) sentence, lifting his eyebrows on the in -depth cracks within the party.
