The Governor of the Democratic Party of the people on Saturday reiterated their commitment to the National Convention on the party scheduled for November 15 in Ibadan, State of Oyo.
They also warned party members who were disadvantaged so as not to frustrate the exercise.
This follows the comments credited to the Federal Capital Region (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at the elective national convention of the former party in power.
Former Governor of the State Rivers said on Wednesday that he did not know about the plan to hold a PDP national convention and vowed to challenge the plan with his group.

“I am not aware that they will go to the convention in Ibadan.
“As a member of NEC, I have not been told, and no one invites me to the NEC meeting. If the people who work as a team say they hold NEC, let it be,” he told reporters.
In a communication issued at the end of their 7th meeting held in Gusau, the state of Zamfara, the governors reiterated their full support for the 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) resolution held in July, regarding the November national convention.
It reads: “The Democratic Party Governor Forum (PDP) of Peoples reiterated his full commitment to the 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting resolution in July 2025 concerning the November 15th National Convention.
“This urges members to reject all efforts to thwart conventions by anti-party forces, but to see PDP as the only democratic and alternative institution that is worthy of restoring Nigeria throughout the good path of government and national development.”
