Army Chief of Staff (Coas) Lieutenant General Olumi Oluyede, on Sunday, issued a challenging warning for terrorists and armed criminals who damaged Nigeria’s security, confirmed that their defeat was not only avoided but would soon occur.
Speaking during the interdehenominational service held in Abuja as part of the activity to mark the celebration of the Nigerian Army 2025 (NADCEL), the Army Head talked about military commitment to maintain Nigerian sovereignty and restore peace in all problems with problems.
“For all those who are trying to disturb our freedom of purity, our eternal heritage, and democracy, rest assured that your failure and your busyness have no value,” Oluyede said, strengthening the Moto Army Nigeria: victory only from God.
His statement arose amid a series of coordinated military attacks that had resulted in significant operational success in Nigeria. In a statement, Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defense Media Operations, the Nigerian armed forces announced the neutralization of the famous terror leader, Mai Dada, during the operation in the area of ββthe Maru local government in the state of Zamfara.
The attack, which was carried out between June 25 and 26 under Yama’s Fasan Operation, was part of a wider sweep in various regions, targeting rebels, kidnapping, and criminal gangs.
In the northwest, troops from 1 brigade operating under the Social Fasan Yama succeeded in driving out the ambush and neutralized Mai Dada, a key figure in the terror network in the region. Elsewhere, in the State of Kaduna, the army at the escort task thwarted another ambush in Birnin Gwari, restoring the AK-47 rifle which was laden with 30 rounds.
In northeast, troops under the Hadin Kai operation, supported by air support, intercepting rebels along the known withdrawal routes in Gwoza and the Bama regional government in Borno. This patrol causes the recovery of hundreds of rounds of ammunition, grenades with rockets, and the destruction of terrorist hiding places.
Meanwhile, in Central Nigeria, the Wirel Stroke operating forces rescued five kidnapping victims after the shootout in the state of Benue. In the southern-south region, the arrest was made in Bayelsa and Edo countries involving suspects in ownership of illegal weapons and alleged logistics supplies intended for terror networks.
Troops in the state of Plateau, under the operation of Safe Haven, conducted a raid in several villages throughout the LGA Bokkos. With the help of a drone, they navigated the mountain field, restoring the weapons left by the escaped attacker.
General Oluyede used the Nadcel event not only to commemorate the 162 years of the Army Service but also to call for national unity in dealing with difficulties. He highlighted the spiritual foundation of the Nigerian Army, emphasizing the faith and moral belief as a guide for ethical behavior in operations.
“Interdenominational and Friday prayer services reflect the recognition of the Army about Divine Guidance and the Role of Faith in strengthening our soldiers’ determination,” he said.
He further asked the Nigerians to unite behind the military mission, emphasizing that “security is a shared responsibility” and that public support is very important in ensuring long -term peace.

While the challenges remain, operations intensified by the Army indicate a strategic axis towards a more aggressive counter -tactic. With Lieutenant General Oluyede at the top of the leadership, the Nigerian military emerged to rebuild the morals and trust through transparency, actions, and community involvement.
“The Nigerian army belongs to all Nigerians,” he concluded. “We expect their maximum support so that we can do our work better.”
