The special assistant of the President for Public Affairs, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Audu, resigned from the position, with an immediate effect.
In a letter dated 8 June 2025 and addressed to the president through the head of the State House staff of Abuja, Audu expressed a profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in the public communication team of the Administration.
Dr. Audu in the resignation letter expressed gratitude and a profound sense of duty for the opportunity to serve.
He described his service as an “honor” and recognized the role of Ajuri Ngelale, a former special councilor for the media and advertising, in facilitating his appointment despite their short knowledge.
“I would like to thank Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, a former special councilor for the media and advertising, whose trust in me despite our short knowledge led to my appointment on August 26, 2023,” he said in the letter.
Audu was officially appointed on 9 October 2023 and played a key role in the administration’s public affairs strategy, focusing on national communication efforts aimed at promoting the policies and results of the government.
In his resignation letter, he further has Sais: “It was an honor to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration. Please accept the insurance of my maximum esteem and the continuous prayers for the success of your leadership and the progress of our beloved nation”.
No official reason was declared for the resignation of Audu and the presidency had, at the time of the press, to issue a declaration that confirmed the development or appointment of a replacement.
