The kidnapped Ecwa shepherd dies in the custody of the bandits

The tragedy hit the Christian community in the state of Kwara while the Rev. James Audu Issa, shepherd of the Evangelical Church who won everything (Ecwa) in Ekati, area of ​​the local government of Patigi, was confirmed dead while in the hands of its kidnappers.

The cleric was kidnapped by his Pastorium on Thursday 28 August 2025.

Its kidnappers initially required a ransom of ₦ 100 million.

But the family was able to negotiate ₦ 5 million.

However, according to what reported, the bandits denied the agreement, insisting on others ₦ 45 million.

Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the family, Rev. Issa has never regained his freedom.

His death was confirmed on Thursday 2 October by a teacher, Peter Kolo, who described him as a dark day for the Church.

Sharing the news, Kolo Wrote: “What a sad day. It is with a Heavy Heart But With Total Submission to the will of God that the Nupe Christian Community of Patigi District Council of Ecwa was woken up Early This Morning to the Sad News of the Glorious Home Call of Rev. “The sad news of his disappearance, which took place on a date that we do not know, was in the hands of the Fulani Bandits who terrified EDA and Pastigi Lgas in Kwara North.”

The news left the members of the ECWA denomination in mourning, with many describing the Rev. Issa as a dedicated shepherd who gave the best to the service of God and humanity.
